For Brandon, each new writing task is an opportunity to tell a story. These stories can be woven with the fabric of culture, wrapping copy in myths and legends to entice and connect with audiences.
With a background in critical studies, he takes an analytical lens to each piece of copy that comes across his desk.
Interpretation can be guided through the careful use of language, and so Brandon ensures that his copy is tailored to the audience and brand in question. His approach involves first understanding the desired takeaway, then crafting a message that will relate those meanings semiotically.
Oftentimes bordering on pedantic, he can’t help but cringe at typos.
Brandon will hold his BA (Communications) from Simon Fraser University as of Fall, 2019. He has also been a guest speaker at Okanagan College for Communications, helping students to improve their understanding of branding and voice in marketing.
As a writer, Brandon believes in the power of words, using them to their greatest effect at Hiilite.
